About the event
The World Cup is globally regarded as the most prestigious association football competition, as well as the most widely viewed and followed sporting event in the world.
2026 FIFA World Cup will be the first to include 48 teams. It will be jointly hosted by 16 cities in three North American countries; the main host country of matches is the United States, while Canada and Mexico will be the auxiliary hosts.
